Borumba Dam: Water skiing accident

Posted on 28-Nov-2011

The AGL Action Rescue helicopter evacuated a 29 year old woman from Borumba Dam near Gympie on Saturday lunchtime after a water skiing accident.   The Canadian woman who lives in Shelly Beach suffered serious injuries when the ski rope became wrapped around her leg.  Flight Paramedic Mick Webster said "the rope cut through her leg effectively de-gloving it and breaking the bones.  She was in a serious but stable condition.  We managed her pain level and then prepared her to be airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital for surgery."
