Cooran: construction site accident

Posted on 07-Dec-2011

A 51 year old worker has been injured in an accident at a construction site north west of Cooran.  The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter  airlifted the man to the Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering from leg and arm injuries.  The accident is believed to have happened while large blocks of reinforced concrete were being unloaded from a truck along a new section of the Bruce Highway.   Bad weather conditions made it a challenging journey for the chopper.  The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter pilot Dave Donaldson said the rescue went smoothly despite poor weather conditions. "We had to fly at low level the whole way dodging low cloud and rain," said Mr Donaldson.
