Fraser Island: sand boarding accident

Posted on 29-Nov-2011

A 38 year old male has been airlifted off Fraser Island by the AGL Action Rescue helicopter after suffering head and facial injuries in a sand boarding accident.   The helicopter landed in darkness at Waddy Point on Fraser Island. Using a search light, Pilot Andrew Caton set the helicopter down on the beach not far from the accident scene. Dr Luke Burman and Flight Paramedic Mick Webster treated the man's injuries and loaded him on board for transfer to Hervey Bay Hospital.
