Goomboorian near Gympie: motorcyclist collides with kangaroo VIDEO

Posted on 09-Feb-2012

The AGL Action Rescue helicopter has airlifted a 52 year old Gympie man after a kangaroo knocked him off his motorbike early this morning.

The man was riding home from a night shift around 1.30am when a kangaroo leapt onto the Tin Can Bay Rd at Goomboorian.  The motorcyclist took evasive action lying the bike onto its side as the two collided.

His right leg was pinned between the bike and the road causing severe injuries including multiple fractures.

The man was taken by ambulance to Archery Park in Gympie where the AGL Action Rescue helicopter was waiting.

The helicopter's flight doctor and flight paramedic stabilised the man before he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition.
