Mt Tibrogargan: mountainside rescue

Posted on 19-Nov-2011

A woman has been winched to safety by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter after falling during a climb in the Glasshouse Mountains.   The 27-year-old from Scarborough had been climbing with her partner on Mount Tibrogargan when she fell and lost consciousness.

"They were very experienced climbers and this was just an unfortunate accident," said Flight Paramedic Mick Webster who was winched down to the woman, "An SES volunteer had been able to reach her but it would have been difficult to stretcher her out and it was decided to use the specialist skills of our helicopter crew."   The woman was airlifted to Caboolture Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.
