Noosa North Shore: Woman trampled by horse
Posted on 14-Jan-2012
The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter has come to the aid of a woman who suffered serious injuries after the horse she was riding fell on her.
The 40 year old was walking her race horse when it reared up, sending the woman off its back. The horse, standing over 15 hands, also toppled back, landing on top of the woman. She suffered further injury as the horse trampled her trying to get to its feet.

The helicopter's Flight Doctor and Flight Paramedic treated the Noosa Heads woman for suspected chest and abdominal injuries.
"It was a really big horse," explained Flight Doctor Luke Burman. "The weight of the horse was the real problem."
"It definitely could have been worse, it's lucky she was wearing a helmet," he said.
The woman was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
