Tangalooma: Man injured by propeller in fall from boat

Posted on 14-Nov-2011

The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter crew airlifted a  man to hospital after he fell off a boat and was hit by the propeller. The 25 year old had been on a day out with friends in Moreton Bay when the accident happened late on Saturday afternoon.   Local ambulance officers gave initial treatment until the crew from the AGL Action Rescue Maroochydore base arrived.   On board the twenty minute flight were crewman Dan King, Flight Intensive Care Paramedic Mick Webster and Flight Doctor James Edwards.  Dr Edwards said the man had suffered large multiple cuts to his back and upper body, which will require surgery and skin grafts.   The man was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
