Volunteering

Would you like to be a volunteer?

Volunteers are vital to the ongoing operation of AGL Action Rescue Helicopter. Our board of directors, managers and staff are grateful for the countless hours contributed by our many volunteers. Volunteering is a fun and great way to meet new friends, while contributing to a lifesaving service.

Volunteering

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they share one common goal: a passion for the safety of Queensland families. While our rescue crews are trained professionals, we also need capable people to help with our fundraising, conducting tours and administration.

Occasionally, people with specific skills are required for a one-time task, e.g. carpentry, data entry, etc. Hopefully when we need it, we can count on your support.

Becoming a volunteer is easy

All you need is a willingness to learn, a desire to help, a love of meeting people, a smile and a little time. Volunteer hours are flexible and can be fitted around you. So give the gift of time and help us to save lives.

  • male or female
  • aged 18 to 75
  • a team player
  • enjoys meeting people
  • a positve attitude
  • neat and presentable

Personal benefits

Voluntary work is of course unpaid, but it does provide its own rewards.    You'll get to see "backstage" in the hangar area and gain valuable hands on experience in an operational environment whilst doing something really worthwhile.    You'll get to meet and work alongside a great bunch of dedicated people and you'll be invited along to open days and other events.
